Cursed Crops


Cursed Crops is a hybrid tower-defense/action game where you choose the enemies you fight, as well as your defenses! During each level, players must plant enough crops to fill a "quota", which turn into enemies during the "harvest" phase! Build turrets to bolster your defenses and protect your farmhouse from getting destroyed!

This is a project for my UCSC capstone class this year that has recently been completed. You can find the game on steam now!

These screenshots show the progress we have made on the first level. Our programming team has implemented the turret-building and enemy-planting systems, as well as the melee and ranged attacks. Our next stage of development is updating a few art assets, adding more levels, and implementing the story scenes.

What I Did

I've done the design work on the different types of enemies and their unique forms of attacking, as well as the drafting and editing of the story and tutorial, plus various other tasks around all the other departments whenever one of them needs an extra hand for a certain task, such as character animations, SFX recording, and design work on the "quota" system. After our first draft and the subsequent Edits, I switched my focus over to bug testing, and running playtests.
